Diamond in the Rough

Because I've been putting lots of time in on the family room I thought it would be fun to pull up some of the picture of what the how looked like when we first saw it.

Holy moly, it was rough.

It was pretty much a shrine to the early nineties. You might have thought the cast of Dawson's Creek was hiding somewhere on the premises.

Fireplace

Our fireplace was pretty dated. I wanted something very classic.

Still working on the top portion, but I loved how the brick turned out.

Little Changes

Josh's installed a new light in our entry. 

I found this light at IKEA in the as is section for $15.00. I really like the style.

I put up a few pictures of my girls.

Bathroom lights

I decided against the vanity. So now I'm thinking new pedestal. I think definitely on the round mirror.

 But what lighting?

Marble tile for 31 sqft (+10% so 35 sqft $200-$300) plus $350 for install.

I'm using paint I already haves so that's free.

Bathroom Vanity and Mirror

I'm contemplating a vanity purchase. They have the vanity below on clearance at Home Depot. It is more practical than the current pedestal because there is a drawer and small place to set things down. I really like the pedestal and want a big round mirror which I know would look great with the pedestal but I'm not so sure if it works with the vanity.  . .

But I still have some plans. 

I'd like to get some upholstered chairs for the head and foot of the dining table. Something with nice high backs, I've love a really fun fabric, but that is hard to find. 

These pottery barn ones are way too pricey.

These cheaper options at Overstock.com might work.

I like that these are high (43 inch)
