Front Room

Here is my front room currently:

We've come a long way since moving in

But I still have some plans.

I'd like to get some upholstered chairs for the head and foot of the dining table. Something with nice high backs, I've love a really fun fabric, but that is hard to find.

These pottery barn ones are way too pricey.
Calais Chair

These cheaper options at Overstock.com might work.
St Thomas Indoor Wicker Dark Brown Side Chairs (Set of 2)
I like that these are high (43 inch)
St. Criox Honey Wicker High Back Side Chairs (Set of 2)

Also I want add some additional artwork here:
Here are the frames and general arrangement:

Here are some of my thoughts on prints:
14x11

9x10

12x12
11x14

(11x14)

20x28
 (8x12 w/o)
12x12
I am also going to do some pictures of girls for the diagonal wall at the foot of the stairs.

Girls' Room

About a year ago my neighbors were throwing out their daughter's old bedroom furniture, so I picked it up. My mom found a vanity top at a yard sell that didn't quite fit the dresser.. I took off a row of drawers and attached the mirror and painted the whole thing purple. I want to use the drawers with some corbels to make a shelf or desk for their room. I'll keep you posted.

Now it matches    the side table between the beds.

I made the fabric headboards a while back.
Ainslie got the chandelier for Christmas.

Still need curtains, a wall color, some pictures on the wall, and new carpet. But we are having fun building a princess room.
Joel Stein started a recent article this way: "I love looking at other people's homes for much the same reason I love listening to people tell personal stories: I get to judge them."

I laughed out loud.

I keep waiting until I finish a project to post about it, but that doesn't seem to happen so I'll just post about my house as it is.

Judge away. . .

My new family picture over the fireplace:

This (circa 1990) fireplace is on the chopping block, but I'm loving my new family photo.
